Get ready for LAFC Academy V2010!

Beginning in August, LAFC will initiate a U8-U10 Boys & Girls Soccer Academy. Academy soccer has long been a mainstay of youth development programs in the US and represents a training and playing environment that bridges the gap between recreational soccer that extends from the U4-U10 ages and competitive, select soccer from U11 and above.

Our philosophy is that beginning around the age of 9 or 10, motivated players desire a more competitive and rigorous training & playing program mentored by coaches who are more knowledgeable about the technical & tactical aspects of the game.

A typical Academy program may involve 1 or more training sessions per week with Academy trainers in addition to Academy tournament and Academy league play. The LAFC Academy Program will be run by the finest USSF licensed coaches in west Texas with European, Central American, and US playing & coaching experience. Our staff is committed to developing players to their potential while building their confidence, integrity, and discipline. Beginning in July, we will post our Academy Program on the web. Stay tuned!

LAFC Summer Soccer Clinic, 23-26 June - updated 28 MAY 2010

The 3rd annual LAFC Youth Soccer Camp will be held from 23-26 June 2010, at Smylie Wilson Middle School. We utilize a low player-to-trainer ratio to maximize individual player development. Players will be divided by age and ability and will run through a circuit of exercises that will utilize economic training to improve technical and tactical skill as well as develop soccer fitness.

Each session will focus on specific technical skills in which all players will work with a ball. Progression through the session will follow a natural flow from individual skills to small-sided matches. The final day, 26 June, from 9 AM to 12 PM, will focus on match situations and will conclude with an awards ceremony, refreshments, and a few surprises!

The Details:

AGE: U8-U16
FEE: 50$
WHERE: Smylie Wilson Middle School, 31st & Salem (1 block west of Quaker)
